The Rutland County Republican Committee is hosting a candidate forum for the major party candidates running for federal congressional seats. There are four Republican candidates vying in the Vermont Primary on August 14 to challenge Senator Bernie Sanders or his Democratic Primary Opponent, Folasade Adeluola of Shelburne. There are two Republican candidates hoping for the position on the General Election ballot to challenge the Democratic Primary winner from among incumbent Representative Peter Welch and two others, Dan Freilich of Brownsville and Ben Mitchell of Putney.

Republican candidates for US Senate include Lawrence Zupan of Manchester, H. Brooke Paige of Washington, Jasdeep Pannu of Essex Junction, and Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente of San Diego, CA (who is running for US Senate seats in 7 states!)  Republican candidates for US House include Anya Tynio of Charleston, VT and H. Brooke Paige of Washington, VT.

The forum will be moderated by Jay Shepard, Vice Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Vermont Republican Party Committeeman to the RNC since 2012, and owner of marketing/ consulting firm “Junction Consulting, LLC”.  According to Rutland County GOP  Chairperson Terry Burke, “With so many significant issues at stake, and such a large field of candidates, informed voters are critical to our elections and by hosting this event we can provide opportunity for insights into who these candidates are and how they might represent Vermont.”
